Col3neg Among Other File Sharing Sites

By Tara Webb

Col3neg content can be found through an quick internet search. A lot this content appeals to viewers in Sri Lanka. Some of the content exists in the form of video television programming films and news

There is no cost for content for the content shared on the site. Shared content online always poses a risk for problems. A lot of the content shared by users has copyrights in these copyrights are usually infringed upon when it is shared without permission from its owners. It is important to make sure that you are taking these copyright laws into account if you are going to share content.

The practice is also called peer to peer. Lawsuits have been used to target violators of these copyrights. It is beneficial to users that they be aware of the law before sharing content. In addition to lawsuits criminal cases have been filed against abusers. Sometimes there have been a large fines handed down against them.

The law varies from country to country and one will want to be aware of existing laws before posting files online. The legal system is often used as a vehicle to target serious violators of content and copyright law. Such lawsuits can be filed against violators either by governments or companies that own the copyrights depending on the level of infringement

On occasion governments or companies will file these cases to make an example of the violator in order to prevent others from engaging in similar conduct. There are many examples of sites that have been shut down as a result of abuse. In some cases in addition to being shut down owners have been criminally prosecuted.

The content industry has adopted some policies in order to combat these violations. One such policy is the graduated response system based on the three strikes rule. This policy takes advantage of a collaboration between the content industry and internet providers and can result in loss of internet to an internet protocol address of a repeated violator.

This kind of collaboration can have its problems. One such case is that of a dutch content company that used this collaboration to illegally compile peoples internet protocol addresses. This led to court action to ensure that people's internet protocol addresses were not being used to identify them for other reasons.

Nonetheless this is still a legitimate concern for content providers. Spain ranks very high and incidences of abuse. One particular study tracked over 2.4 billion downloads over the course of the year. It is estimated that over 30% of the country's population shares illegal content.

Col3neg content is very easily accessible on the internet. It can also be shared very easily. A lot of the time as a result of little or no control over their users and contributors' behaviors, websites that host shared content will find themselves subject to lawsuits. These companies are often created and legitimate vehicles however user behavior then shuts a negative light upon them.
